GENRE: Selection/Finalization

Deciding upon the genre and topic, as easy as it sounds, was a TASK! A big one. All of us were so excited to get to the actual part of shooting and editing and wanted to get done with all the pre-production work as soon as possible but it wasn't just a piece of cake. Also, because of our preliminary magazine, we knew how all of the pre-production tasks were equally important. As I've mentioned in my previous blog as well, as to how long it took us to finally decide upon a topic.

Our three top choices were;

i) increasing consumption of drugs in the youth

ii) manipulation through fake claims of black magic and necromancy

iii) child marriages and their mental, emotional, and psychological effects on victims

I personally was rooting for the last one as I witnessed an example and saw how drastic and harmful the effects were. Moreover, this issue is still a major problem in the lower-class society. I found the second topic to be very interesting and realized how important of an issue it was and how much it was neglected in our society.

After the survey results came in, we had one last voting within our group and the second topic won by a margin of 75%. A clear win!!
